She is working directly toward the advancement of science, the arts, and community through her work as a scientific researcher, through involvement in community non-profits, and through civic engagement as a member of the Neighborhood Council system in Los Angeles.
In flow cytometry, Jamie has spent tenures at major scientific institutions including Caltech, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is a member of both the International Society for the Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC) and the Southern California Flow Association (SoCalFlow).
JIM DE JOHN has served for 45 years in the healthcare industry in the capacity of Healthcare Executive, Management and Consulting in Institutional Food Service, Materials Management Services, Healthcare Capital Equipment Group Purchasing, and Healthcare Technology Consulting.
His personal interests include choral singing both sacred and secular, guitarist, vocal training in classical and popular music. He sings with two choral groups for Catholic Church services at Holy Family Church in Glendale, CA and volunteers for church organizations including Holy Family’s parish council and the Knights of Columbus.
Jim is married with two adult children and one grandchild.
