Score Submissions

Nova Vocal Ensemble is always seeking new choral works! While we program works based on a particular theme for the season, it never hurts to submit score samples for future performances.

Here are a few guidelines:

1. We generally perform music for mixed chorus a cappella.

2. We encourage the submission of works with divisi up to 8 voices, SSAATTBB. Short instances of extended harmonies up to 12 voices are acceptable.

3. We generally do not accept pieces for men’s choir alone or treble choir alone.

4. Typically, we prefer pieces that are from 2 to 5 minutes in length. Occasionally, we will perform a piece a little longer than 10 minutes in length, though this is not the norm. We are happy to accept works with multiple  movements.

5. Music may be secular or sacred.

6. We accept BOTH premieres and works that have already been premiered.

7. Familiar Christmas carols with a contemporary classical twist are always welcome!

8. We accept submissions for solo voice and piano, duet and piano, trio and piano, quartet and piano, solo piano, solo violin, or any combination of the mentioned forces for our recital series. These pieces may be in opera, art song, or musical theater style.

Please contact novavocalensemble@gmail.com for score submission inquiries.
